CREATE YOUR OWN WEB SITE:

doteasy.com ($90 for 5 years with name & free basic web storage)

I don't suggest only paying for one year.  I've done that before.  Before you know it, the year is over, and you either need to pay again or delete the site.  Pay for five years, and you own the domain name for that amount of time.  You can always change to a different storage company later--or, more likely, upgrade with dot easy to more storage and more emails, etc--if you find that you need to do so.  Email with questions.

NOTE:  If I refer you, then you refer others, we are all given additional storage space, free.  So be sure to go through me, and we'll plan it so everyone benefits.

If you need help or advice on how to create a decent web site using the least amount of space, visit the Franco at NSU site above, and click on the "About this site" link.

FREE SOFTWARE:

Office Suite / Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, etc.
Excellent features for word processing, spreadsheets, etc. similar to MS Office, but free.
Some features I find superior to Office. The fact that busines/most people use Office is the biggest drawback.
Can save in format of Excel, Word, etc, though usually some formatting issues. (Print to PDF to avoid that)

Print to PDF
(If using OpenOffice, etc, print to PDF and anyone will see your doc exactly as you wanted it to look)

Shows the sky from anywhere, any time
(Excellent view similar to what you see thru scope or binocs)

Study astronomy

Make ringtones, clips from songs, etc

Before You Know It language study program

Excellent for resizing photos, changing size on disk, etc

Able to see Earth, sky, Mars, the Moon

Free flight simulator

Free for video calls computer to computer (voice only and IM, too)

Sign on to all IMs at once & fb updates, etc in program

CueCard is a good study program, with pics, links, sounds possible

Seterra. Study Geography

FTP uploader for uploading your web site

Easy to resize video to fit any screen size (I use it to make phone sized movies)

TCPMP, plays movies on mobile phones

Shadows. Create sundials

Fast, free web browser. Streamlined. Shows 9 sites you visit most.
(But, you can't use Google Toolbar with Chrome)

MOZILLA FIREFOX (browser) and THUNDERBIRD (email)
Firefox
I prefer this to Internet Explorer
Does have tabs, allows use of gmail as email that pops up when you click on a link on a web page. You can use Google Toolbar)
Email
Acceptable, last I used it. I had a calendar integrated, but don't remember if I had to download it as an add-on.  It worked fine for what I do.  I only changed to Outlook because I bought a cell phone that needed Outlook for easy integration of data betwee phone and PC. May have been possible with Thunderbird; I didn't bother to find out.

TrueCrypt Free Open-Source On-the-fly Encryption
Encrypts an entire hard drive, a partition, or a folder that is similar to a file.
Will work for USB drives.

DreamCalc is a scientific calculator software.  Free download.
If you don't pay, it will remind you occassionally to pay up or be inconvenienced.
